Helsingin Kisa-Veikot is a track and field club with 2,000 members. With strong traditions in both recreational and competitive athletics, one third of the members are children and young people. The club has earned the Tähtiseura quality label in the category of youth and children’s sport. Managing such a large and active organisation requires structure, practical tools, and an up-to-date overview of daily operations..
Suomisport brought clarity to club routines
Before adopting Suomisport, the club had to coordinate a large number of training groups. Keeping track of participation, communicating with members, and managing payments all required a lot of separate effort. In autumn 2021, the club decided to centralise everything on one platform.
– We wanted to update our practices and bring everyday management to one place. We were all on the same page – Suomisport clearly helps us in many ways, says Otto Raja-aho, the club’s youth coordinator.
One of the biggest advantages has been the ability to manage training groups effectively. Suomisport helps the club stay up to date on who is attending each session. That makes planning easier – for example, if a session has more participants than usual, additional coaches can be brought in.
Communication made easy
Another improvement has been communication. Changes to sessions, announcements and reminders are sent straight from Suomisport – either to individual groups or the entire membership. No email lists, no extra tools – just one platform.
– Everything happens in one place, and that has saved us a lot of time, Raja-aho
Families benefit too
It’s not just the club staff who have noticed the difference – parents have also found Suomisport easy to use and helpful in everyday life.
– All three of my children do athletics in Kisa-Veikot. It’s incredibly convenient to manage all their registrations and payments through one platform. You can mark attendance with one tap and get real-time updates from the coach, says parent Mari Ikäläinen.
Looking ahead
Suomisport is now a central part of Kisa-Veikot’s daily operations. The club uses the platform to create training sessions, track attendance, manage seasonal payments – and plans to make broader use of its features in the future.
A shared system makes life smoother for both coaches and families.
