Mikkelin Voimistelijat has been using Suomisport in their day-to-day operations since 2023. The implementation began within the club’s cheerleading division. According to club employee Mirka Jussila, Suomisport has been a tremendous help especially in organising and managing events.
– We had come across Suomisport in various contexts and heard a lot about it. We felt that our systems and routines needed an update, so we decided to make the service part of our everyday work.
Jussila notes that the implementation didn’t happen overnight.

We wanted to take our first steps with Suomisport at our own pace.
It was important to us that the platform would become part of our daily routine gradually and thoughtfully – not in a rush.
– We’ve received positive feedback from our members right from the start. Suomisport has been seen as clear and helpful in our day-to-day club activities. It’s shown that the change has been worth it.
– Parents have especially highlighted how easy it is to mark attendances and absences. Communication through the service has also been seen as effective, Jussila adds.
Naturally, there have also been moments of learning.
– Moments of confusion are part of the process. Suomisport is by no means a difficult system to adopt, and we’ve always received help when needed. We’ve never had to figure things out alone, Jussila adds.
Real-time tracking of registrations and payments
At Mikkelin Voimistelijat, Suomisport has played a key role in creating and managing events. With Suomisport, clubs can create both one-off and recurring events.
– This has saved us a huge amount of time. Participants register for our events directly in Suomisport, which reduces things like email exchanges and spreadsheet work on our end. Managing the event and its schedule is easy, we can monitor registrations in real time, and payments are processed alongside sign-ups. If there are changes to the event, we can notify participants through the platform as well.
Jussila reminds that there’s no need to adopt everything all at once.
– We still have a lot to learn. You don’t need to take on the whole service at once. For us, it’s worked best to start by using the features that are most essential for our day-to-day operations. Once you’re comfortable with certain parts, it becomes easier to expand from there.
– Even if change might feel burdensome at first, I want to encourage others – it’s worth it. When administrative tasks become easier to manage, club workers have more time to focus on the actual day-to-day activities. That’s been the most tangible change in our club’s operations. Digital services are such a central part of people’s lives nowadays that it would almost be strange not to keep up. The change has been a positive one – both for our members and for others we work with.
