Sotkamon Jymy-Pesis is particularly known as a traditional Finnish baseball club with extensive junior activities for players of various ages. The club gradually adopted Suomisport in 2023, and by the following year, several functions—such as membership fees and registrations for groups and events—were already in active use within the Suomisport service. The club is very satisfied with the opportunities Suomisport offers.
– In fact, all the feedback we have received from our members has been positive, summarizes Sotkamon Jymy-Pesis’ Executive Director, Juuso Hyvönen.
Using data for planning and anticipating activities
Sotkamon Jymy-Pesis, which runs several youth teams in different age categories as well as a Pesisliikkari group, has particularly benefited from Suomisport’s tools for managing groups and events.
– Suomisport is a very convenient service for monitoring and planning activities. From an executive director’s perspective, it is important to easily track the number of participants in different groups, as this helps to form an overall picture of the club’s operations.
– Registering for training sessions via Suomisport also makes the coaches’ job easier, as they can plan sessions in advance based on exact registration numbers, explains Hyvönen.
Sotkamon Jymy-Pesis has especially noted how the data provided by Suomisport can be utilized in analyzing and reporting on the club’s activities. According to Hyvönen, the club encourages both organizers and participants to actively use Suomisport so that the available data can be used in the best possible way.
– I have encouraged club officials to add all events to Suomisport so that we can gather as much information as possible about the activities we organize. We also encourage participants to register well in advance for training sessions and other events to keep the attendance lists up to date.
What’s next?
Although Suomisport’s various tools are already in daily use at Sotkamon Jymy-Pesis, Hyvönen still sees opportunities to expand the utilization of the service.
– We still use WhatsApp groups for team communication on daily matters. However, I have noticed that Suomisport could also be a convenient tool for communication. So, at some point in the future, we may start experimenting with shifting more of our communication to Suomisport.
