Suomisport brought immediate benefits to Lempäälän Kisa – “We wanted to streamline our routines and free up time for what happens on the field”

The blog has been updated in June 2025.

Lempäälän Kisa Yleisurheilu adopted Suomisport in a focused way already three years ago. The transition was quick, and within a few months the club had moved all key operations – member registry, registrations, licences and payments – to the new platform.

– The decision to move to Suomisport was an easy one for us. We wanted to make daily operations smoother, and Suomisport clearly delivered. The decision was made together, and we stood behind it throughout the process, says Executive Director Timo Reunanen.

According to Reunanen, the direction of development was convincing from the start: user feedback is taken seriously, features are constantly improved, and staying on board early was a strategic choice for the club.

– It’s been valuable to be involved from the beginning. The platform has become a natural part of how we work.

“Suomisport is everyday life for many – including parents”

Reunanen notes that Suomisport is already widely used in many clubs and disciplines – by athletes, coaches and families.

– The growing use of Suomisport makes day-to-day operations easier across the sports community. For us, it’s important to contribute to making the platform even more common in the world of sport, Reunanen explains.

In spring 2022, LeKi moved not only licensing, but also registrations and payments into Suomisport. Clear communication proved to be key.

– We communicated actively about the transition and explained why it was needed. We also shared simple user guides, which were well received.

Support is available – and learning happens step by step

Although the onboarding process went smoothly at LeKi, Reunanen recognises that learning new systems is personal.

– Age or experience shouldn’t be a barrier. There’s plenty of support available for Suomisport, and you should never hesitate to ask. The most important thing is to take the leap and see it as an opportunity to improve club operations.

He also emphasises that Suomisport doesn’t need to be implemented all at once.

– Each feature complements the others. Once you’ve taken the first step, the next one is easier. I recommend taking time to explore and starting with whatever makes the most sense for your club. And if your club has digital expertise – use it, Reunanen says.

Five tips for a smooth Suomisport onboarding:

  1. Start small. Begin with one feature and expand step by step.
  2. Scale by group – for example, start with staff, then move on to coaches and athletes.
  3. Communicate clearly and often. Explain the reasons for the shift, how the service works and where to get help.
  4. Tailor it to your needs. Use the features that serve your club’s daily operations best.
  5. Encourage use of the mobile app. It brings the platform into everyday use.
