Rauman Seudun Urheiluampujat (RSA) is a sports club founded in 1997 in the city of Rauma. With over 400 members, it is a relatively large and diverse shooting sports club, actively working to develop its operations.
The club began using Suomisport based on a recommendation from the national federation.
– We started using Suomisport at the request of the federation to get our membership register up to date. After that, we quickly moved on to managing membership fees, groups, communications, event coordination, and payments through the service, explains Mona Nordberg, the club’s treasurer and membership coordinator.
The federation also sells licences through Suomisport and manages the subscription to the Urheiluampuja magazine in the system. The magazine is delivered as a member benefit to all members of affiliated clubs. As long as the club keeps its member contact details updated in Suomisport, the address database stays accurate.
Support from webinars and online Suomisport introductions
The club in Rauma has appreciated Suomisport’s webinars and remote presentations.
– The service overviews and webinars have been useful and helped us get started with a full-scale implementation of Suomisport, says Nordberg.
In addition to webinars, Nordberg has used Suomisport’s support appointment booking for help with specific issues.
– We’re probably not yet using the service to its full potential, but Suomisport has already made it easier to manage payments, event signups, and participant tracking. Some members of the club have started using group functions and attendance tracking via Suomisport. But we could definitely make even broader use of these features, Nordberg summarizes.
Highlighting the benefits of Suomisport is key to effective use. When adopting digital services, Nordberg sees the main challenge as getting the full membership on board. For members, the service simplifies communication with the club: memberships, referee cards, and licences are easy to show directly from the Suomisport app at shooting ranges and competitions—no more printed receipts or physical cards. This is something the club and federation have emphasized in their communications.
In addition to adopting Suomisport, Rauman Seudun Urheiluampujat is working to develop the club more broadly.
– Most recently, we’ve joined the Finnish Olympic Committee’s Tähtiseura programme to develop our operations, Nordberg concludes.
The Tähtiseura tools are available free of charge to all clubs through Suomisport.
