Sporttihaku is live – all hobbies now in one place!

Has your club already listed its offerings in Suomisport’s Sporttihaku?
Now is the perfect time to take action and get your club visibility as part of the Finnish Olympic Committee’s national Harrastamisen Kipinä (Spark for Hobbies) campaign this autumn!

“Activities for kids, for girls, for boys…” is one of the most searched phrases on Google as summer turns to autumn. The search results are often random – discussion threads, news articles, and individual service providers. It’s still a long way from discovering a local sports club and signing up for a hobby.
And let’s face it – search engine optimization is not the core strength (or job) of sports clubs.

To solve this problem, the Finnish Olympic Committee has launched a renewed Sporttihaku service. Now, all hobbies can be found in one place – Suomisport’s Sporttihaku. It’s a digital marketplace for sports services that gathers the offerings of sports clubs. It’s one central place where people can easily find and register for organized sports activities. Sporttihaku provides a free marketing channel for clubs.

Sanna Mäkelä, Executive Director of Pakilan Voimistelijat, describes Sporttihaku as a great advertising platform for clubs.

– With Sporttihaku, clubs can share information about their groups and activities and direct users straight from Sporttihaku to the club’s own website. I think it’s crucial for clubs to take advantage of every opportunity to promote their activities. We especially want to reach people who don’t yet have a hobby, Mäkelä explains.

The Olympic Committee and sports federations want to support club marketing with a joint communication campaign and the new Sporttihaku service.
The Harrastamisen Kipinä campaign runs from August 4 to September 31, 2023, with widespread visibility through outdoor ads at bus stops, digital screens at public sports facilities, and online advertising. All paths lead directly to Sporttihaku and its hobby search.

Now is the time for clubs to get involved in this collective effort by the entire sports community – so that children, young people, and adults can get moving more!
