The Finnish Olympic Committee and Tietoevry Create have signed a multi-year agreement for the technical development and maintenance of the Suomisport services.
The collaboration marks an important step in the digitalisation of Finnish sport. The Suomisport service provides a platform through which athletes and their guardians, sports clubs and national sport federations can manage a wide range of sports-related matters easily and securely. The aim of the service is to streamline the daily operations of athletes, clubs and federations.
Tietoevry Create was selected as Suomisport’s partner through a public tendering process.
A significant and growing sports service
Over the past decade, Suomisport has grown into one of the most important digital services in Finnish sport. Today, more than 1,300 Finnish sports clubs use the service, and there are over 950,000 registered unique users.
– We’re truly excited to start our Suomisport collaboration with Tietoevry. We’ve had the pleasure of working together before on the 360 training service designed for elite athletes, and our experience has been excellent, says Emilia Ottela, Director of Administration, Digitalisation and Data at the Finnish Olympic Committee.
The collaboration with Tietoevry Create enables the continuous development and maintenance of Suomisport services. Tietoevry’s expertise and technical know-how are key in further developing the service and ensuring its stability.
– It’s great to help develop Finland’s leading digital sports service and to expand our cooperation with the Finnish Olympic Committee. We bring extensive expertise in digital services and data utilisation to the partnership, says Antti Pudas, Head of Public Sector Deliveries at Tietoevry Create in Finland.
New opportunities of the service
Suomisport brings together various sports services in one place and makes managing them easy and efficient. At the same time, it collects valuable data about Finnish sport. In spring 2025, the Sporttidata report was published, offering for the first time a comprehensive overview of the status of different sports in Finland.
While the Finnish Olympic Committee remains committed to developing the service for national federations and sports clubs, future development will increasingly focus on individual exercisers and athletes. The service will also open up new commercial opportunities for Finnish sport.
The Finnish Olympic Committee and Tietoevry Create are committed to making Suomisport an even better and more comprehensive service that supports the Finnish sports community more broadly than ever before.
