Finnish Gymnastics Federation joins the Suomisport family – the licence system is being renewed

Finnish Gymnastics Federation moves licence sales to Suomisport as of 1 September

The Gymnastics Federation brings with it a variety of disciplines to Suomisport, including acrobatic gymnastics, aesthetic group gymnastics, competitive aerobics, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, TeamGym, trampoline gymnastics, and dance and performance gymnastics.

– The transition to Suomisport is part of our strategy to strengthen data-driven decision-making and promote digitalisation. We want to support our clubs and gymnasts with modern services and systems, says Acting Executive Director Susanna Porola, explaining the background of the decision.

The federation’s decision was based not only on Suomisport’s functionalities but also on the fact that the service is being developed as a shared platform for Finnish sport and is already used by many disciplines. Suomisport is developed, maintained and secured by the Finnish Olympic Committee.

Licence sales to be renewed as part of the transition

With the transition to Suomisport, the Gymnastics Federation is also renewing its licence system. The new system will simplify and harmonise the licence purchase practices across the different disciplines.

As of 1 September 2025, the required licence will be determined based on age and/or competition type. In addition, a low-threshold Start Licence and a One-Time Licence will be available – the latter being ideal for one-off competitions, for example.

Licence information will be published and updated on the federation’s website during the summer.
