Sysmän Voimistelijat is a sports club of around 200 members, specializing in dance, recreational gymnastics, and adult fitness. The club started using the Suomisport service in January 2025. According to the club, payment management has improved significantly since the adoption.
Club secretary and board member Veera Lammes-Lehtinen describes Suomisport as a modern and flexible service. She emphasizes the importance of keeping the club’s operations up to date.
– The previous apps and platforms no longer met our needs. I already had experience with Suomisport through my child’s sports hobby and had seen the system working well as a whole. Those positive experiences encouraged us to make the switch, says Lammes-Lehtinen.
The greatest benefit has been in payment handling.
– Payments now run much more smoothly through Suomisport. When invoices and payments were still managed through the club’s email under the old system, it was extremely time-consuming. Tracking seasonal fees and sending reminders had to be done manually.
– The old system required two to three people to run. Now I handle Suomisport mostly on my own, and from next year I will share the tasks with another board member. From that perspective alone, the change is significant, Lammes-Lehtinen explains.
Suomisport has freed up hours for other club work
Sysmä is a municipality with fewer than 4,000 residents and has three sports clubs, each with its own role. Sysmän Voimistelijat focuses especially on dance and adult fitness.
– As a board, we actively work to remain a vital wellbeing club in our community. Our goal is to be a wellbeing club that offers joyful exercise for people of all ages, says Lammes-Lehtinen.
She sees Suomisport as a major advantage for small clubs in particular. Administrative tasks take less time, allowing the focus to shift more strongly to everyday club activities.
– In small clubs, resources are often already tight. Operations run on volunteers, and people try to manage many roles at once. Suomisport has enabled us to speed up and automate payment processes, which in turn has freed up time for other tasks, Lammes-Lehtinen notes.
Members see Suomisport as a natural extension of club life
Next, the club will expand Suomisport to cover membership management as well.
– We have decided to implement functions step by step. Next, we will adopt membership management to ensure our register is always up to date. I believe this will be a great help overall, Lammes-Lehtinen says.
– The feedback from our members has been very positive, and Suomisport has been seen as a natural continuation of everyday club life. The service is easy to adopt and fits well alongside other daily apps. Perhaps the better question is which task we wouldn’t handle through an app anymore, Lammes-Lehtinen laughs.
She also feels she has received invaluable support from the Suomisport team.
– It has been wonderful to receive professional and personal support as a club user during the system’s implementation. Suomisport’s support site with instructions and videos has been praised even by our members. In addition, I have used Suomisport experts and gone through both basics and more complex individual cases via Teams, Lammes-Lehtinen says.
Clubs receive support for adopting Suomisport through customer service, the sales team’s experts, and webinars.
