Esport Oilers chose Suomisport – Finland’s largest floorball club is consolidating its member services in one place

At Esport Oilers, day-to-day operations have long relied on a variety of different systems. At Finland’s largest floorball club, it has taken time to get everything organized—both for the club and for its members.

– We’re a large association with many moving parts. At one point, we had to pause and think about how we could simplify the management of the association, says Operations Manager Henry Arrhenius.

The choice fell on Suomisport, to which Esport Oilers is now transferring its membership administration, teams, and other operations.

One overview is all it takes – making everyday life easier for members

The change is most noticeable in everyday life. The Floorball Federation’s game schedule has already been available on Suomisport, and now the club’s other activities are being seamlessly integrated into the same service.

Going forward, players, athletes, and their guardians will be able to find all the important information in one place: player profiles, club fees, registrations, and the team’s daily activities.

The Suomisport app makes everyday life easier: events are added to your calendar, important club announcements are easy to find, and automatic reminders keep you informed about upcoming events. Payments can be made easily right in the app.

– We wanted to make sure our members wouldn’t have to wonder where to find the various pieces of information. When everything is in one place, we can simply say, ‘Check out Suomisport.’ It makes everyday life easier for our members, explains Arrhenius.

This is particularly helpful for families with several children who are active in the club.

– When all the kids’ after-school activities are tracked in one place, everyday life becomes much easier.

More time for what matters most to the association

From the association’s perspective, too, the change is significant. When the membership registry, dues, groups, and communication are all brought together in a single service, day-to-day operations become more efficient.

In practice, this means that team managers and club staff have more time on their hands, since they no longer have to perform manual tasks or maintain separate systems.

– For us, it’s not just about switching systems; it’s about a way to develop the entire association’s operations. When the basics are in place, we can better focus on what matters most.

One decision – one model

The changes at the Oilers didn’t happen by chance. They were driven by a need to improve member services and internal communication within the club in order to meet the daily demands of a large and growing organization.

When using multiple different systems, it’s easy for duplication of effort, errors, and unnecessary workload to occur. A single-service model creates clarity – both for the association and for its members.

Arrhenius views Suomisport as a service that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of sports clubs. This also supports the future needs of Esport Oilers.

But ultimately, it comes down to one simple thing: when day-to-day operations run smoothly, there’s more time left over to support the team and develop high-quality recreational activities. Arrhenius also encourages other floorball clubs to implement changes.
